Confession of Faith

Of Faith and Salvation (c)

We believe that salvation is free to all through the Gospel: that it is the immediate duty of all to accept it by a penitent and obedient faith; and that nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner except his own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the Gospel.

Of Faith and Salvation (d)

We believe that sinners must be regenerated to be saved or born again, that it is supernaturally brought about by the Holy Spirit by means of the divine Word; and that it secures our voluntary obedience to the Gospel, and is manifested in holy fruits of repentance, faith, and newness of life.

Of Faith and Salvation (e)

We believe that repentance and faith are sacred duties, and inseparable gracen, wrought in our souls by the regenerating Spirit of God; that, being made deeply conscious or our guilt, danger, and helplessness, and of Christ as the only way of salvation, we thereby turn to God in contrition, confession, and prayer and that an we do so, we also heartily receive Jesus Christ as our Prophet, Priest, and King, and rely on Him as our only Savior.

Acts 17:30
Matthew 21:29
2 Corinthians 7:9
1 Thessalonians 1:9

Of Faith and Salvation (f)

We believe that sanctification is the process by which God makes us partakers of His holiness; that it is a progressive work that is begun in regeneration, and continued in our hearts by the work of the Holy Spirit, and in connection with Bible reading, self-examination, self-denial, watchfulness, and prayer.

1 Corinthians 6:11;
2 Peter 3:18;
1 Thessalonians 5:23 RV, also 3:13

Of Faith and Salvation (g)

We believe in the perseverance of the saints; that their persevering attachment to Christ is the mark that distinguishes them from superficial professors; and that they are kept by the providence and power of God through faith unto salvation.

Of Faith and Salvation (h)

We believe that the Law of God is the eternal and unchangeable rule of His moral government, and is holy, just, and good; that the inability of fallen man to keep it arises entirely from his love of sin; and that the Gospel has been given to point such helpless sinners to the Savior Who can bring them into obedience to the will of God.
